Air Conditioning Repair Information
This video contains basic air conditioning repair information that will help better understand AC units.
Air Conditioning Basics
Central air conditioning units transfer heat to the outside of the building. This is achieved through a few steps.
First the warm inside air [1] is pulled into the indoor unit. Using a filter [2], the indoor unit removes dust particles trapped in the air.
Then, the blower [3] pushes warm air past an evaporator coil [4], cooling the indoor air. Any moisture is then carried away from the coils through an evaporator drain line.
Once the air is cool, it is sent to the duct system [5]. The duct system then directs the air to the designed indoor areas.
Hot gas is created from the indoor unit. This gas is sent to the outdoor unit to be cooled.
During this cycle, the outdoor unit releases any heat [6] into the outside air.
The new cool gas is then sent back to the indoor unit’s evaporator coil. This allows the indoor air to be cooled providing comfortable temperatures.
